Dr. John Francis to Speak
at Winter Outdoor Adventure Expo
johnfrancisphotogr07.jpg

The Winter Outdoor Adventure Expo featured speaker is Dr. John Francis.  Dr. John is amazing – he has dedicated his life to changing the world by changing himself, has travelled extensively by foot after giving up automobiles, and even gave up talking for 17 years!  Find out more at www.planetwalker.org.

Fortunately for us he has broken his vow of silence and he will be speaking at the Winter Expo (for FREE).  Spread the word – go ahead, it's ok, really it is . . . you may even speak if you must!!!

. . . A Bit About Us . . .

MidwestMtnStorefront.jpg Our Storefront — 309 Cedar Avenue

Located in the Cedar-Riverside area, Midwest Mountaineering is a Mecca for outdoor enthusiasts, providing the best gear and clothing for adventure travel, backpacking, canoeing, cross country skiing, frisbee golf, hiking, ice climbing, kiting, mountaineering, nordic skating, nordic walking, sea kayaking, rock climbing, telemark skiing, ultralight backpacking, and whitewater kayaking.

The store began thirty-seven years ago as a climbing shop.  Since then, owner Rod Johnson and his staff have offered quality gear and expert advice in order to make your outdoor adventures enjoyable.

Stop by soon and see why Midwest Mountaineering was included in Twin Cities Magazine's annual review of the 100 best things in the metro area and rated as one of the top 25 top independent outdoor specialty retailers in the country by Outdoor Business Magazine in 2007!

Throughout the year we offer clinics and programs, many free of charge, that inform and inspire.  Test a canoe or kayak at one of our boat demos.  Try your hand at nordic walking.  Learn to wax those old cross country skis or what to wear when snowshoeing.  We can probably teach you about sports you never knew existed!

Here's What Others Say About Midwest Mountaineering

"Midwest Mountaineering is the best, better than all the stores in Seattle.  In fact, the best outdoor store I've ever been in, and I've been in plenty.  I come all the way from Seattle to the Outdoor Adventure Expo." — Pete Daniels, Seattle Washington

"A jewel in the Midwest!  I've been coming since 1978." — Steve Ehlscheid

"No business in the Twin Cities, or anyplace I have been, is more devoted to the personal growth and outdoor skill development of those who cross your path.  And it is due to your leadership and the tremendous teams you have assembled over the years." — Richard McGovern, Duluth, MN
